Energy recovery plant finally commissioned

The energy recovery plant on Forest Road has finally passed the necessary testing and has been fully commissioned.

The plant converts all non-recyclable household waste to energy (‘energy from waste’) which could generate enough electricity to power 7,000 homes.

While this is welcome in cutting down on what we need to send to landfill, it is of course still vital that we focus on reducing waste, re-using and recycling wherever possible.
